Foreword of the Geografía Agrícola Journal 70th issue

Abstract

The 70th issue of the Geografía Agrícola Journal is dedicated to the memory of Professor Jorge Duch Gary, founder of the Journal and forger of the national character of the Autonomous University Chapingo through the Regional Centers.
Geografía Agrícola Journal was created in May, 1981, the project was presented by the head of the sub-directorate of Regional Centers and the director of Cultural Dissemination of the Autonomous University Chapingo. The proposal was part of the transmission of the National School of Agriculture (ENA) into the Autonomous University Chapingo (UACh), process that had formally begun in May 1978, with the approval of the University Statute by the University Community at that time.
Therefore, with the 70th issue of the Geografía Agrícola Journal we celebrate the 42nd anniversary of this publication and the 45th anniversary of the transformation of our institution. In addition, this year 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the National School of Agriculture, today Autonomous University Chapingo, which was moved to the Ex Hacienda de Chapingo, located in the municipality of Texcoco in the Estado de México.
