Abstract
This research analyzes the family structure of beneficiaries of the Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro (JCF, by its Spanish acronym) program in rural areas of Mexico, within the framework of social policies promoted during the Fourth Transformation government. To this end, data from the 2024 National Household Income and Expenditure Survey (ENIGH, by its Spanish acronym) conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI, by its Spanish acronym), from the Federal Government’s open data portals, and from official information generated by the program itself were integrated and processed. The methodology combined data mining and statistical analysis techniques: the former to refine and simplify large volumes of information and the latter to identify relevant patterns and trends. The results evidenced that rural areas are the most vulnerable, with mothers, who are heads of households, being the group that benefits the least and faces the highest levels of marginalization due to their position in the social structure, low educational level, and low income. This situation suggests that the program addresses not only issues associated with extreme poverty, but also structural unemployment. The implications of these findings in terms of targeting, equity, and effectiveness of social policy are discussed.
