Abstract

Without any doubt, nowadays, one of the most urgent issues in the Mexican field is that related to the environmental conflicts and the dispute over the territorial control, phenomenon that is presented within a context where the rural poverty increases, and the agricultural activities are unprotected in face of the threats arising from the climate change. Within the framework of this conflict, two clearly identified actors are confronted towards the definition of the use that must be given to the available natural resources, as well as the productions methods that must be preferred for their management or extraction. On one side, the transnational mining and agricultural companies are present to continue the excessive plundering, of the minerals and raw materials and food, applying extractive methods of intensive and indiscriminate exploitation that leave large footprints of ecological devastation behind them.
