Abstract

Historical research from the communities recovers a latent, unwritten memory. The interview with Don Isabel Reyes Corona, in the market arches of Amecameca, Estado de México, regains that identity of the Zapata movement called “Zapatismo” and documents it, in which he narrates passages of his life as a combatant and worker, in a sincere and direct account, where the truthfulness is demonstrated by the eloquence of his word. A testimony lost in the University’s Historical Archive, recovered 25 years later, allowed to elaborate this paper, where anecdotes and experiences are intermingled, and myths are recreated, with the magic put in the eyes of a boy who led the Ejército Libertador del Sur to the historic meeting with the División del Norte, the largest peasant armies, in Mexico City
